Flash sales may not be a as exciting and buzz-worthy in the States as they were in years past, but it seems that internationally they are still the best place for people to be able to score their favorite brands -expensive and cheap-in a sort of get before its gone approach to shopping.
Mixi a Japanese social networking service, sees the value flash sales have internationally and just announced it has acquired Muse & Co., an e-commerce site targeting Japan’s luxury shoppers for JPY1.76 billion (approx. $14.8 million).
Founded in 2012, the team at Muse & Co. operates a flash sales site that that sells luxury fashion brands to women at deep discounts.
In May 2013 Muse & Co. took home a $3.4 million Series B investment from Itochu Technology Ventures, Mitsubishi UFJ Capital and Infinity Venture Partners. According to Muse 7 Co. executives the company currently has 600,000 users.
